Architecture Project

 This has been my favorite brief so far. I feel that i have explored a variety of different techniques using a wide range of materials including papers, fabrics and even copper. I decided to look at Historical Architecture than contemporary as I feel that older buildings are more beautiful and have very intricate detailing on them. I also looked at Architecture all around the world in countries like Egypt, Barcelona and New York City!

A screen print inspired by The Town Hall in Manchester.

Done using a old vinyl case, this was inspired by Checker Board a website. Some of the work is shown below in my sketch book.

Here I have placed circled of work using different media's onto a already prepared inked background.

Done using Embossing, Sellotape, and Screen Printing. I have then embellished upon these with Beads, coins and gel pens.

My Home Town

I love travelling to London, such a big city full of  fashion and inspiration. However with all the excitement of the capital Ive never actually looked around my home city of Manchester. So for my college brief on Architecture I decided to go into Manchester and look closely at the detail on different buildings. I found that the older buildings have beautiful and delicate detailing on them!

Natural Forms and Floral Felt

Both of these briefs were all about felt, flowers and natural objects such as shells and plants. 

The Goddess Guide, a must read for any girl!

It gives advice on coats bags and shoes, and interviews from the likes of Christian Louboutin.

This is my mood board for this project, I included felt samples and design ideas of possible final pieces that i could be done.



Here is a small bag I put together inspired by my research I used patchwork to create the front of my bag and using a waxed tea bag as a pocket on the front.

Small samples made from my own made felt and from ready made felt as well, there is a wide variety of different techniques including applique, hand stitch and rouching.




My final cushion done by usig my own made felt for the background and cut and slash detailing on the top.



London Fashion Weekend

Alexa Chung, Lily Allen, Kate Moss - these are just a few examples of the A-List celebrities who are expected to be seen at LFW each season. Fortunately enough, I was able to go on another trip down to London to attend London Fashion weekend. Designer brands such as Ashley Isham and BodyAmr attended the show and with amazing discounts on designer winter staple's, how could i say no?

My Wall of Inspiration!

Cream wall's? Rather boring right? So I decided to cover them up with everything and anything. Fan's, receipt's, label's and posters. You name it, its probably on there.

Whitworth Art Gallery.

The Whitworth art gallery opened in 1889 and is still today a popular and exciting place for artists, designers and families to visit. In June i popped down to the Gallery to view the 'Wall's Are Talking' exhibition. This linked in very well with my brief at the time which was 'Architecture'.
